The downside of the new flat built of the Paperwhites is that their screen gets blurred out because of the extra layer. I like wireless charging but I don't understand why Amazon put it in a device that has to be charged every few weeks. The 'antiquated' Oasis has some features only the Signature edition has. But this was the reason why it can be this thin. This was known from the start, the older paperwhite versions lasted longer than the Oasis. The battery is lower because of it's shape.
